Here’s the thing about pain. Studies have shown that manual physiotherapy and dry needling can certainly help. But they’re not long-term solutions. That’s why our approach to pain-relief is a little different: by relieving the pain, we get a window of opportunity. An opportunity to get you moving. To strengthen your body and build resilience. And ultimately, to stop the pain coming back.
BOOK AN APPOINTMENTThere are a lot of tricks and techniques we can use to alleviate pain. This phase might involve dry needling, taping, ergonomic advice, massage or hands-on manipulation. It’s all about soothing discomfort and getting your body ready for the next step.
Restore is really what sets Viva apart. While other physios stop at massage or needling, we focus on long-term pain prevention. In the Restore phase, we’ll build up your muscle resilience, and carefully explore your body’s response to certain movements.
Once we know the mechanics behind your pain, we can design a program to suit your goals. Sometimes that means playing sport or running a marathon, other times it’s just getting through a work day without discomfort. Perform is where we build solid, long-term technique.
Sarah understands that everyone’s pain is different and can be very multifactorial. Sarah enjoys helping educate you about the true cause of your pain, how pain and healing interact, and most importantly, how best to tackle your pain head-on.
Sarah regularly treats a range of clients from those acutely injured from weekend sport to those with a persistent painful niggle. She’ll approach your pain with a combination of hands-on rehab and therapeutic movement, ultimately aiming to build strength and resilience so you can get back on track with achieving your goals.
BOOK WITH SARAHAsh will utilise her background in pain management and rehabilitation to help diagnose and explain the contributing factors of your pain. Empathetic in nature, Ash will take the time to listen to and understand your concerns and work with you to help reach achievable goals.
BOOK WITH ASHIf you have had long-term pain, it can be a tricky thing to navigate. We now know from medical advances in pain that it’s more complicated than just having a body part that hurts. Since completing her Masters in 2009, Kath has developed a special interest in chronic and long-term pain – be it back pain, neck pain, headaches, or pain from any area of the body that persists.
Kath can help you to diagnose and treat the pain (we call this the relieve phase) and then help you confidently discover and learn your body’s tolerance for movement and load.
