There are a lot of tricks and techniques we can use to alleviate pain. This phase might involve dry needling, taping, ergonomic advice, massage or hands-on manipulation. It’s all about soothing discomfort and getting your body ready for the next step.

RESTORE

Restore is really what sets Viva apart. While other physios stop at massage or needling, we focus on long-term pain prevention. In the Restore phase, we’ll build up your muscle resilience, and carefully explore your body’s response to certain movements.

PERFORM

Once we know the mechanics behind your pain, we can design a program to suit your goals. Sometimes that means playing sport or running a marathon, other times it’s just getting through a work day without discomfort. Perform is where we build solid, long-term technique.

Ash will utilise her background in pain management and rehabilitation to help diagnose and explain the contributing factors of your pain. Empathetic in nature, Ash will take the time to listen to and understand your concerns and work with you to help reach achievable goals.

Kath

If you have had long-term pain, it can be a tricky thing to navigate. We now know from medical advances in pain that it’s more complicated than just having a body part that hurts. Since completing her Masters in 2009, Kath has developed a special interest in chronic and long-term pain – be it back pain, neck pain, headaches, or pain from any area of the body that persists.

Kath can help you to diagnose and treat the pain (we call this the relieve phase) and then help you confidently discover and learn your body’s tolerance for movement and load.

Georgia

When it comes to experiencing pain, Georgia recognises that insight can be the most powerful tool. She can help by diagnosing and educating you regarding both the source and the underlying causes of your pain. Georgia will use manual therapy techniques and gentle relieve-based exercises to help alleviate the pain, and work with you to start moving towards achievable goals that will help to prevent it returning in the future.

Clinical Movement

Clinical movement is our best starting point for pain, as we create a bespoke program specifically designed for you. It takes a few individual sessions to write your program but you’ll see the most specific improvement starting here. Book a clinical assessment

Pilates Mat

Pilates Mat Class - many people with general pain will benefit from movement and core strengthening. If your pain is fairly manageable and you’d like to learn how to engage your core, this is a great class for you. Book a mat class

Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga - a “physio” take on your classic yoga class, modified for those in pain. It brings together mindfulness and pain management techniques with a good, old fashioned stretch. View our timetable
