MILES FOR MINDS:
CHARITY RUN/WALK

COVID-19 has had a significant impact on the wellbeing of Australians, particularly in the community of Melbourne. That's why we've teamed up with Prevention United to create Miles for Minds, kicking off in October.

Miles for Minds is a 6-week support program plus a virtual fun run/walk. You can expect training and injury support in the form of videos, emails, and check-ins with our physios, culminating in the virtual fun run/walk on November 14th, 2020.

This is a great way for you to take an active role in tackling the issues of physical and mental health. So, let's get moving and fundraise for a very important cause.

We’ve seen a 33% decrease in the amount of exercise our clients are doing due to lockdown, and this has led to a significant eight in ten clients saying they have experienced a moderate to severe injury or health challenge since COVID-19 imposed lockdowns started this year.

As physiotherapists, we feel a responsibility to take the lead in inspiring Victoria out of our lockdown and COVID-slump. It’s impossible to ignore the burden that COVID has placed on Victoria’s mental health, but physical activity plays an important role in supporting mental health, so it’s because of this we’ve created ‘Miles for Minds’.

Spring is the perfect time for all Victorians to thrive. We are passionate about getting as many people moving as possible, but in a way that feels right for your body. Choose the 5km or 10km run or walk, or just get involved by making a donation.

Dates: ‘Miles for Minds’ launches on Saturday 3 October 2020, culminating in a 5km or 10km fun run or walk on Saturday 14 November.

Program and support: During the six-week program, participants will be able to take part in online classes and workshops, as well as have access to resources.

Who can enter: Anyone!

Fee: Suggested entry is $20 which you’ll make directly as a donation to Prevention United.

Donations: Participants can choose to make a donation to Prevention United or encourage friends and family to make a donation in support of their participation.

How To Get Involved

Step One - Get Involved

We are passionate about getting as many people moving as possible, but in a way that feels right for your body. Choose the 5km or 10km run or walk, or just get involved by making a donation.

Step Two - Use our Tools to Train

We want to use our expertise to make sure your body can complete the run in the best and safest possible way. That's why we've created training programs unique for each event. See below.

Step Three - Get Sponsors and Be Visible

We will be tracking, applauding and giving away prizes for the fundraising you do. Remember it all goes to a good cause.

Step 4 - Join us Virtually on 14th November
